Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Tom Emmer sent a letter to Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 23 Director Robert McDivitt voicing his concerns over recent changes to the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) program which have significantly impacted access to home-based care and transportation services for Minnesota veterans.
Washington, D.C. - Earlier this year, Congressman Tom Emmer successfully advocated for language to be included in the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Fiscal Year 2025 Appropriations bill requiring the Department of Veterans Affairs to prepare a report offering solutions to ensure military families receive their deceased veteran's death certificate in a timely fashion. Without a signed death certificate, these veterans cannot be buried. The bill passed the House of Representatives on June 5, 2024.
