WASHINGTON — Today, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) led a letter to U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Tina Smith (D-Minn.) pressing them to end the Democrats’ government shutdown and to vote in favor of the clean, nonpartisan continuing resolution (CR). Emmer was joined by fellow Minnesota Republican Representatives Pete Stauber (R-Minn.), Michelle Fischbach (R-Minn.), and Brad Finstad (R-Minn.).

In a vote of 219-210, the House of Representatives passed Emmer’s bill, which prohibits the Federal Reserve from issuing a central bank digital currency (CBDC) and codifies President Trump’s Executive Order to forbid federal agencies from exploring their development.
