Washington, D.C.— Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) announced his cosponsorship of Representative Rodney Davis’s (IL-13) Protecting Family and Small Business Tax Cuts Act. This legislation will make several individual rates and deductions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent.

Emmer said, “The relief offered by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act has been a rare bright spot for working Americans, who are now facing the highest prices in forty years due to inflation and Democrat spending.”

Washington, D.C.— Today, Congressman Tom Emmer applauded FreedomWorks's choice to highlight his legislation to prohibit the Federal Reserve from issuing a central bank digital currency (CBDC) directly to individuals.

Emmer said, “My bill, which prohibits the Fed from issuing a central bank digital currency directly to individual Americans, is a statutory prohibition on a surveillance tool that could be used to kill private sector innovation and deflate the dollar’s dominance.”

Washington, D.C.— Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) wrote a letter to Acting Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Janet Woodcock expressing his concerns with a 2021 rule related to over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids.

“Low-cost care cannot be an excuse for low-quality care.” Emmer said. “Hearing loss is a serious medical condition, and insufficient or improper care can cause more harm than good.”

This bill would amend the Medicaid Inmate Exclusion Policy (MIEP), which currently denies Medicaid coverage to all incarcerated individuals, to allow coverage for pre-trial detainees.
