Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) announced today that he will host his second town hall of the year in Andover, Minnesota on June 30th.
Hi everyone, Tom Emmer here with a special Memorial Day message.
For many, Memorial Day marks the beginning of the summer season.
For others, this holiday is seen as a day off from work or school, and as a chance to spend time outdoors grilling with family and friends.
But in actuality, this day is a solemn one.
It is a day dedicated to the men and women who bravely served this great nation and never made it home.
Today, and every day, it is important that we reflect and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Earlier this month, Eida and her mother Justine visited my staff in our district office. After running into issues with an adoption freeze and no exit visas, my office was able to help Eida and her family finalize her adoption. Eida was adopted from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and was brought home just the week before stopping by our office. We are proud to be in the business of serving the constituents of Minnesota’s Sixth District and helping them navigate federal agencies, and this is one amazing example of the work we can do! Welcome home Eida!
Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Congressman Emmer introduced the CFPB Dual Mandate and Economic Analysis Act. The CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) - a creation of the controversial Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act - has been the center of a great deal of criticism for imprudently wielding its power to regulate many industries that had absolutely nothing to the 2008 economic crash.
While meeting with Minnesotans from the Sixth District, I often hear frustration about the pace of getting real reforms passed in Washington. And rightly so.
Even though it can be maddening that some changes take years or even decades, I can assure you that we are making progress. In fact, this week we passed much needed reform to our country’s email privacy laws. The last time we updated these digital privacy laws was in 1986.
