Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Tom Emmer issued the following statement regarding passage of H.R. 7608, a package that included State-Foreign Operations, Agriculture-Rural Development-FDA, and Interior-Environment appropriations bills. The bill included anti-mining provisions designed to ban the operation of existing and future mines in Minnesota.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) gave a speech on the House floor to defend Minnesota mining during debate on H.R. 7608 - State, Foreign Operations, Agriculture, Rural Development, Interior, Environment, Military Construction, and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act, 2021. The appropriations package included several provisions harmful to exploration and mining.

Washington, D.C. - Following Governor Walz’s July 2nd request for a Major Disaster Declaration and federal assistance, Congressman Emmer sent a letter to President Donald Trump, Attorney General William Barr, Department of Homeland Security Acting Secretary Chad Wolf, and Federal Emergency Management Administrator Peter Gaynor calling for a federal review of the actions taken by state and local officials to prevent the destruction following the death of George Floyd.

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded the St. Cloud Regional Airport a grant of $168,606. The funds are enhanced by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and will go towards several projects to improve safety at the facility.
