Washington, D.C.— Last week, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) hosted the second session of his Young Women’s Leadership Program (YWLP). Since 2016, Emmer has held the YWLP, which connects high-school-aged girls with women leaders in a variety of professions from across Minnesota.
Washington, D.C.— This week, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) led his Republican colleagues on the House Financial Services Committee on a letter to Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Acting Chairman Martin Gruenberg condemning the agency’s politicized and retaliatory examinational appeals process.
Emmer said, “The current federal rulemaking process allows agencies to overreach their authority and dictate policy without Congressional approval. A bloated bureaucracy and thousands of costly, potentially outdated major rules have been the result.”
Last year, we saw a massive violation of taxpayer privacy when ProPublica, a non-governmental advocacy group, published the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) records of high-profile taxpayers like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. This was the largest breach of taxpayer data in the history of the IRS.
At the hearing, Emmer questioned SEC Director of Enforcement Gurbir S. Grewal on the SEC’s politicization of enforcement and extra-jurisdictional reach. Through his line of questioning, Emmer got Mr.

“America’s ability to grow and produce resources here at home is our greatest strength,” Emmer said. “The growing trend of foreign nations, like China, buying up American farmland presents an insidious threat to our ability to feed our own people.”
On the campaign trail in 2019, President Biden made a promise to his supporters that he would “end fossil fuel.” Unfortunately, he has obeyed his promise, and the American people have suffered. On President Biden’s first day in office, he signed an executive order revoking approval of the Keystone XL pipeline. On January 20, 2021--President Biden’s inauguration day--the national average for a gallon of gas was $2.38.
Today, the national average for a gallon of gas is $4.46, representing a nearly 100% increase since President Biden took office.
