Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) announced that his office would begin accepting submissions for the 2023 Congressional App Challenge.

“In our increasingly digital world, skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) have never been more important,” said Emmer. “STEM education is essential to students’ growth as they pursue post-high school opportunities, regardless of their chosen path.”

Washington, D.C. – Last night, the House Financial Services Committee passed three bills led by Majority Whip Tom Emmer (MN-06). The legislation, including the Small Business Entrepreneurs Empowerment and Development (SEED) Act (formerly H.R. 2201 in the 115th Congress), the CFPB Dual Mandate and Economic Analysis Act and the CFPB Whistleblower Incentives and Protection Act, were passed during a markup session on Wednesday.

Elk River, M.N. – Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) hosted a roundtable discussion with farmers, ranchers and producers at Oliver Kelley Farm in Elk River, Minnesota. The purpose of the listening session was to solicit input from key stakeholders in the agriculture industry ahead of the 2023 Farm Bill.

“Over the past several years, our farmers have stepped up in the face of workforce shortages, high gas and fertilizer prices and seemingly endless supply chain delays to feed America,” Emmer said.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Majority Whip Tom Emmer (MN-06) and Representative French Hill (AR-02) sent a letter to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Gary Gensler regarding Chair Gensler’s regulatory hypocrisy and inconsistency in his treatment of spot bitcoin exchange-traded products (ETP) applications.

Over the last decade, over twenty spot bitcoin ETP applications have been filed with the SEC, but none have been approved.

Otsego, M.N. –  Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) announced his office will once again be accepting submissions in the 2023 Congressional Art Competition. The theme of this year’s competition is Let Freedom Ring.

Emmer said, “Every year, we are impressed by the promise demonstrated by the Sixth District’s young artists. The competition is a great opportunity for high school students to share their talent and have their work displayed in our nation’s Capitol.”
