Trunk Highway 65 East Frontage Road

Project Summary: 

Construction of a frontage road along the eastern portion of Trunk Highway 65 from 171st Avenue to 334 feet south of Crosstown Boulevard (CSAH 18) in Ham Lake MN.

Background Information: 

The East Frontage Road will provide multiple benefits to the surrounding area by reducing congestion on Trunk Highway 65 with the rerouting of slower local traffic off of the highway. The project will also close three at-grade access point along the road which have been the site of multiple accidents. The road project will take land that currently is underdeveloped due to the lack of infrastructure and will make it easier for the surrounding area to develop. This project will also construct one of the two missing segments of a frontage road system that will allow for a continuous section of frontage roads between 169th Avenue in Ham Lake to Viking Boulevard (CSAH 22) in East Bethel.
