Otsego, MN - This week, Congressman Emmer hosted his first ever virtual Young Women’s Leadership Program.

"Since my first term in Congress, I have hosted this program to connect fantastic and successful female leaders in Minnesota with high school women who are navigating through decisions about higher education and thinking about their future careers.” said Emmer. “My goal is to help young girls realize that through their hard work and determination, they can realize their dreams - no matter how big. It was an honor to host our first virtual session and I look forward to the rest of the programs this summer."

Emmer concluded, “I was grateful to have Susan Holden, Partner at SiebenCarey and former President of the Minnesota State Bar Association, as well as Jill Johnson of Johnson Consulting Services, who is also the author of Compounding Your Confidence, join our first session to share their experiences and mentor this group of young women. Participation of leaders like these is what makes this program so special."

The Young Women’s Leadership Program allows high school girls from Minnesota’s Sixth District to learn firsthand about different career options from professional women who have built successful careers and have a history of leadership roles in government, business, media, and other fields. Participants of this program take part in open roundtable discussions with their peers and women professionals, hearing stories, receiving guidance, and gaining valuable insights.

Further details on this program, including how to apply for next summer can be found on Congressman Emmer’s website
