Washington, D.C. - Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded the St. Cloud Regional Airport a grant of $1,007,395. This grant is funded by the Coronavirus Relief and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2020.

"This investment will aid the St. Cloud Regional Airport in offering continued quality service to Central Minnesota and the surrounding region, including support to our Minnesota Army National Guard," said Emmer. “St. Cloud is a major economic hub for Minnesotans throughout Central and Northern Minnesota, and I am grateful for this investment in Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District."

“Regional airports serve as a critical connection for Americans in rural areas. During this critical time when materials are needed to address our public health crisis, the St. Cloud Airport has remained a vital avenue for Minnesotans. The help this airport supplies to the broader community bolsters the local economy, and this investment will help sustain the airport and support the region," Emmer concluded.

Specifically, this grant provides for the operation, personnel, cleaning, sanitization, janitorial services, debt service payments, and for combating the spread of pathogens at the airport.
