Washington, D.C. – Last week, Representative Tom Emmer (R-MN) sent a letter to House and Senate leadership urging that a portion of the funding provided within the CARES Act be dedicated to support professionals and those who care for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Direct Support Professionals are dedicated individuals who care for those with physical or intellectual disabilities and help them become or stay a valued member of their community.

Washington, D.C. - Today, in light of Mental Health Awareness Month and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Representative Tom Emmer (MN-06) introduced legislation to provide improvements to the Farm Ranch Stress Assistance Network (FRSAN), which provides mental health assistance to the agriculture community. The improvements include expedited disbursement of funds to develop mental and emotional health resources for farmers and agricultural workers. The bill also provides additional funding for the program as farmers bear the impacts of the pandemic.

MINNESOTA – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08), Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06), and Congressman Jim Hagedorn (MN-01) sent a letter to Governor Walz requesting that he work with the state legislature to ensure federal funds that were provided by the bipartisan CARES Act are quickly and equitably distributed to local governments across greater Minnesota.
