Washington, D.C. – Last night, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) joined his House Republican colleagues in signing a discharge petition to force a vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.
This legislation would protect children that are born alive during an abortion. When these children are born alive and viable outside of the womb, health care practitioners would be required to perform the same level of care that they would for any other premature child, and provide the necessary life-saving measures.
Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) spoke in support of the Timely ReAuthorization of Necessary Stem-cell Programs Lends Access to Needed Therapies Act of 2020, known as the TRANSPLANT Act. Congressman Emmer is a co-sponsor of this legislation.
The TRANSPLANT Act reauthorizes the C.W. Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program, which provides support to patients who need a potentially life-saving bone marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant. This program requires reauthorization every 5 years.
