Washington, D.C.— Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) announced the passage of the Willie O’Ree Congressional Gold Medal Act. The legislation was co-led by Congressman Emmer along with Representatives Mike Quigley (IL-05), Brian Higgins (NY-27), John Katko (NY-24), and Ayanna Pressley (MA-07), and passed the Senate in July.

Today, a bill introduced by Congressmen Tom Emmer (MN-06) and Mike Quigley (IL-05) to honor hockey legend Willie O’Ree with the Congressional Gold Medal officially reached the threshold of 290 cosponsors. Meeting this threshold allows the legislation to receive a vote in the House of Representatives. O’Ree was the first black player in the National Hockey League (NHL) and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018. The legislation is co-led by Representatives Brian Higgins (NY-27), John Katko (NY-24), and Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) and passed the Senate in July.

Washington, D.C.— Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) introduced legislation to create a bipartisan congressional working group to identify the causes of, and propose solutions to, the rising prices Americans are seeing across the country.

“Skyrocketing prices are the single most common concern I hear from my constituents” Emmer said. “Americans are paying more for essentials everywhere from the grocery store to the gas pump, and working families are hit the hardest.”

Washington, D.C.— Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) announced his selection of the app Depression Revolution as winner of the Congressional App Challenge. The app was developed by Aryssa Trotter, a seventh-grader at Central Middle School in Norwood Young America.

Depression Revolution is designed to connect Minnesotans suffering from mental illness with resources to help.
