Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) joined a bipartisan group of lawmakers to introduce legislation to promote workers’ long-term economic success and support U.S. economic recovery efforts amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Washington, D.C. – Last night, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) joined his House Republican colleagues in signing a discharge petition to force a vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. 

This legislation would protect children that are born alive during an abortion. When these children are born alive and viable outside of the womb, health care practitioners would be required to perform the same level of care that they would for any other premature child, and provide the necessary life-saving measures. 


April 14, 2021

Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) spoke in support of the Timely ReAuthorization of Necessary Stem-cell Programs Lends Access to Needed Therapies Act of 2020, known as the TRANSPLANT Act. Congressman Emmer is a co-sponsor of this legislation. 

The TRANSPLANT Act reauthorizes the C.W. Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program, which provides support to patients who need a potentially life-saving bone marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant. This program requires reauthorization every 5 years.

Washington, D.C. -  Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06), with the support of Congressman Ed Perlmutter (CO-07), introduced bipartisan legislation that updates credit union practices and improves employee and member safety. The Credit Union Governance Modernization Act updates the credit union member expulsion process while ensuring a fair procedure for reinstatement.

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representatives Tom Emmer (MN-06), Mike Quigley (IL-05), Brian Higgins (NY-27), and John Katko (NY-24) re-introduced legislation to award barrier breaking hockey legend Willie O’Ree with the Congressional Gold Medal. O’Ree, known as the Jackie Robinson of ice hockey, was the first black player in the National Hockey League (NHL) and is a Hockey Hall of Fame inductee.
