Five years of Dodd-Frank, Five years of failures: July 21st marked the 5th Anniversary of Dodd-Frank, the Wall Street reform act that was promoted as a champion of consumer protections, the end of Washington bailouts, and the nation’s anecdote to financial crises. Unfortunately, the law has fallen short of expectations and is doing more harm than good. On the floor of the House of Representatives I gave two speeches about Dodd-Frank. One about how the law has harmed a Wright County Minnesota bank and consumers, and another about how Congress can amend the law to fix its problems.
