Washington, D.C.— Today, in response to the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) released the following statement:

Today, House Democrats passed another partisan, multi-billion-dollar bill which will raise taxes and do nothing to address the skyrocketing inflation plaguing households throughout Minnesota and around the country. Even worse, the bill abandons a balanced, all-of-the-above energy policy and hangs an ominous specter of audit over every American family and business with the hiring of some 87,000 new IRS agents. Not a single Republican supported this legislation, and for good reason: this is not the path forward hardworking Americans are searching for as they confront punishing prices at the gas pump and the grocery store. We must correct course and empower the American people to create their own prosperity.
