Washington, D.C.— Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) announced that he will be hosting an agriculture-focused telephone town hall on Wednesday, April 20 at 7PM CT. Emmer will be joined by Minnesota Farm Bureau President Dan Glessing and MinnStar Bank Senior Vice President Kent Thiesse.

“Our farmers and producers are navigating monumental challenges, from skyrocketing input costs to supply chain concerns to avian flu outbreaks” Emmer said. “I welcome the opportunity to bring together leaders in our ag community and constituents of the Sixth District. We look forward to another successful town hall.”

Background:
Participants are welcome to discuss any subject, however, the primary focus of this town hall will be on the concerns facing farm country amid the spring planting season.  

MFB President Dan Glessing owns and operates a family farm in Waverly with his wife, Seena. They have dairy cattle and grow alfalfa, corn and soybeans. He was named MFB President in 2021, after serving as Vice President for seven years.

Kent Thiesse is a Farm Management Analyst and currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Ag Loan Officer for MinnStar Bank in Lake Crystal, Minnesota. Kent writes a weekly column titled “FOCUS ON AG” that is distributed to several Midwest agriculture publications and web sites.
