Congresswoman-elect Michelle Fischbach was first elected to the Minnesota Senate in 1996 and served until 2018. During her time as a Minnesota State Senator, she became the first woman in Minnesota history to serve as President of the Minnesota Senate. She is a graduate of St. Cloud State University and William Mitchell College of Law. Most recently, she served as the 49^th Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota. She and her husband, Scott, live near Paynesville and have two grown children and five grandchildren.
