Otsego, MN - Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06), Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08), and Congressman Jim Hagedorn (MN-01) welcomed Congresswoman-Elect Michelle Fischbach to the Minnesota Congressional Delegation.

"Congratulations to my friend and now colleague, Congresswoman-elect Michelle Fischbach. I look forward to working with the new Congresswoman from the Seventh District on policies that will help the agriculture community. I know she will be a great Representative for her constituents," said Congressman Tom Emmer.

She has a long and proven track record of public service in Minnesota and I know she will bring that same dedication to Washington. I welcome Michelle to the Minnesota delegation and I’m eager to work with her on many of the issues most important to rural Minnesotans,” said Congressman Pete Stauber.

Congresswoman-elect Michelle Fischbach was first elected to the Minnesota Senate in 1996 and served until 2018. During her time as a Minnesota State Senator, she became the first woman in Minnesota history to serve as President of the Minnesota Senate. She is a graduate of St. Cloud State University and William Mitchell College of Law. Most recently, she served as the 49th Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota. She and her husband, Scott, live near Paynesville and have two grown children and five grandchildren.
