Mady Vrkljan, a senior at St. Michael Albertville High School, won first place for her digital drawing. Mady is the daughter of Paul and Cori Vrkljan. Her art teacher is Kari Halker-Saathoft. “Until I See You Again” will be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year, where it will be viewed daily by members of Congress, staff, and visitors.
Joshua Eull, a junior at St. Michael Albertville High School, won second place for his pencil drawing titled "USBee". Joshua is the son of Theresa Eull. His art teacher is Kari Halker-Saathoft. "USBee" will be displayed in Emmer's Washington D.C. office.
Shaelee Peterman, a senior at Blaine High School, won third place for her pencil drawing titled "Victrola". Shaelee is the daughter of Brad and Kelli Peterman. Her art teacher is Kimberly Schenk. "Victrola" will be displayed in Emmer's Otsego office.
The Congressional Art Competition is an annual competition for high school students across the United States. The winner from each district wins the chance to travel to Washington D.C. to visit with their Representative and see their artwork displayed in person.
