Washington, D.C. -- Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) joined the congressional delegation to Alabama this past weekend to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the "Bloody Sunday" march in Selma.

"It was an honor to stand side-by-side with my colleagues in Selma this weekend," said Emmer. "The beauty of the American system is that we are a nation of laws, and everyone deserves equal protection under them. As we pause and reflect on the anniversary of such a dark time in American history, may we never forget the efforts of those who fought for equality in this nation. It is now our responsibility to ensure that their legacy lives on in our children and our children's children."
