State Highway 5 South Frontage Road Extension Project

Funding Requested: $5,000,000 

Total Project Cost: $7,000,000 

Project Summary: 

This project would complete the State Highway 5 South Frontage Road Extension Project. The project will extend the existing south frontage road system east to Main Street (CSAH 59), opening up a high-demand area for private industrial and highway commercial development, creating up to 150 new jobs. The project is necessitated by demand for commercial and industrial development to provide employment and a healthy tax base for a rapidly growing community, while also supporting functional improvements on State Highway 5. 

Background Information: 

The project will contribute to a local economy that continues to attract businesses, residential growth, and tourism. The development of new employment centers within the city will give residents more employment options, allowing them to work closer to home as well as provide safer transportation access.
