Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) announced today that he will be participating in the 2021 Congressional App Challenge.

“In an increasingly digital world, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) skills are important now more than ever,” said Emmer. “This Congressional competition encourages middle and high school students from all over the nation to develop their own software application, or app.”

Emmer continued, “Taking this time to learn a new skill like app development can only help expand student’s skillsets and prepare them for careers of the future. I am looking forward to seeing what the students of Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District come up with!””

Background:
The Congressional App Challenge is an initiative of the U.S. House of Representatives. Members of Congress can host district-wide contests for students in middle school and high school. To participate, students are encouraged to register and submit their original apps for this year’s Congressional App Challenge by November 1, 2021.
