Otsego, M.N.— Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) announced today that he will be hosting a tele-town hall on Thursday, February 17 at 7PM CT. Congressman Emmer will be joined by Local Taxpayer Advocate Wendy Rozinka.

"Town halls have always been a great way for me to connect directly with the residents of the Sixth Congressional District, and I welcome the opportunity to bring additional resources and experts to the discussion, especially as we approach another complicated tax season," said Emmer. " I look forward to hosting this telephone town hall to hear directly from constituents about the issues most important to them, and to share more information about the tools available as Minnesotans work to file their taxes."

Background:
Participants are welcome to discuss any subject, however, the focus of this town hall will pay particular attention to the 2021 tax season. Wendy Rozinka is the head of Minnesota’s Taxpayer Advocate Service and will be on hand to assist Minnesotans seeking assistance filing their taxes.

The Taxpayer Advocate Service is an independent organization within the IRS that helps resolve filing and payment issues and serves as a voice for taxpayers. You can learn more about the Taxpayer Advocate Service here.

Minnesotans, like Americans around the country, may have questions regarding the treatment of Advance Child Tax Credit payments, unemployment benefits, career changes, student loan payments, and more when preparing to file their returns for 2021. This Telephone Town Hall will focus on addressing these questions and more.
