Washington, D.C. - Today, House Committee on Financial Services Lead Republican Patrick McHenry (NC-10) announced that Representative Tom Emmer (MN-06) will serve as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
“I am glad to announce Congressman Emmer as the new top Republican on the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee,” said Republican Leader McHenry. “Tom is a proven leader who supports innovation and opposes overly burdensome regulations. He will continue to provide valuable insight as Republicans maintain thoughtful and robust oversight of the Biden Administration and financial regulators.”
“It is an honor to serve as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations,” said Emmer. “Serving on the Financial Services Committee has allowed me to support Main Street lenders and community financial institutions, while also advocating for clear and consistent regulation of emerging technologies. I appreciate the opportunity to be the lead Republican on this Subcommittee and look forward to advancing bipartisan oversight of our nation's financial regulators, while continuing our work on FinTech and innovation.”
Congressman Emmer has served on the House Financial Services Committee since 2015. This will be Emmer’s fourth term serving on the Financial Services Committee. During the 116th Congress, Congressman Emmer led the House Financial Services Task Force on Financial Technology.
