Washington, D.C.— This week, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) announced initiatives to support American energy independence.

Emmer said, “Between raising gas prices to their highest levels in history and bankrolling a dangerous dictator, the world is already bearing the cost of President Biden’s anti-energy policies.”

“American energy independence is within reach. However, President Biden must roll back his destructive energy policies, beginning with reinstating the Keystone XL Pipeline project.” Emmer concluded.

Among his efforts to support energy independence, Congressman Emmer has:

  • Co-sponsored the Make Energy Affordable Act, which requires the Biden Administration to publish a report on how higher energy prices have led to increases in consumer prices across the board.
  • Signed onto a letter led by Representative Rick Allen (GA-12) urging President Biden to roll back policies from his administration which have stymied American energy production;
  • Co-sponsored of the American Energy Independence from Russia Act, which will require President Biden to submit an energy security to plan to Congress, and restart construction of the Keystone XL pipeline;
  • Co-sponsored of the Midland over Moscow Act, which will reimpose Nord Stream II sanctions.
