Mayhew Lake Road Safety, School Access, and Regional Mobility Improvement Project

Project Summary: 

This project will reconstruct dangerous intersections, install modern roundabouts, and construct a continuous multiuse trail to improve safety for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists. Located near Sauk Rapids-Rice High School and an area experiencing rapid residential and commercial growth, the project will address documented crash problems while preparing the corridor for increased traffic demand. This will promote increased safety while also allowing opportunities for increased growth. 

Background Information: 

This project advances a transportation priority by reducing fatal and serious-injury crashes on a growing regional corridor. The Mayhew Lake Road improvement project serves students, families, and commuters, while leveraging substantial local investment to deliver long-term safety and mobility benefits. This corridor currently experiences significant safety concerns and rapidly increasing transportation demands, making improvements necessary to protect motorists, students, and residents traveling through the corridor.
