CSAH 19 and CSAH 18 Intersection Improvements Project
Funding Requested: $1,500,000
Total Project Cost: $2,200,000
Project Summary:
This project is for improvements of the intersection at County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 19/Labeaux Ave NE and CSAH 18/Jason Ave NE/50th St NE in Albertville. The project replaces the existing traffic signal at the intersection with a multilane roundabout. The proposed improvements will have a multilane approach including inputting two through lanes in each direction and a single lane approach for vehicles entering from CSAH 18. The new design includes pedestrian and bicycle facilities for crossing the intersection on all four intersection approaches.
Background Information:
Reconstructing the intersection addresses deficiencies and aligns with significant investments already made to the north and south of the intersection in Hanover, St. Michael, and Albertville to improve mobility and accessibility to I-94, a major economic corridor for communities within Wright County. These improvements also support programmed investments on CSAH 18 to the east of the intersection to provide safer connections to the middle and elementary schools and improve accessibility and operations at the middle school.
