This project will address critical infrastructure and operational needs. The project includes a new influent screen, a grit chamber, electrical upgrades, control system modernization, and more efficient solids‐removal equipment. These improvements will enhance reliability, efficiency, and long‑term sustainability for the City of Rockford. 

Background Information: 

The City of Rockford’s wastewater treatment facility requires significant improvements to maintain safe, reliable, and compliant operations. Many essential components have exceeded their recommended service life and are in need of essential improvements. As equipment continues to deteriorate, the risk of failures increases and threatens the city’s long standing record of effective wastewater treatment. These improvements are needed to ensure the facility continues to operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
